Jeannette M. Wade, Ph.D.

Jeannette Wade earned a Ph.D. in sociology with concentrations in health and gender from the University of Akron in Ohio.
She is an Associate Professor and Program Director of Human Health Sciences at UNC Greensboro.
Her teaching and research focus on the social determinants of health and wellbeing, representation in research and health care, and gender role development.
Dr. Wade’s work has been published in The Journal of Sex Research, Sociology of Race and Ethnicity, and Qualitative Health Research. She has also published in The Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities. Her research has been featured in Time Magazine and Therapy for Black Girls.
Dr. Wade’s work earned national recognition, placing third in the NSF Taking Action: COVID-19 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Challenge.

Jonathan Hendrzak is an Academic Professional Assistant Professor of Human Health Sciences at UNC Greensboro.
He earned a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Clinical Anatomy from Creighton University. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City University.
Dr. Hendrzak brings experience as a Family Medicine resident and applies those insights in the classroom.

Dianne Mann is an Academic Professional Assistant Professor in Human Health Sciences at UNC Greensboro.
She earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.
She also holds a Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Mann has clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics and chronic pain management. Her teaching interests include connecting classroom learning to clinical practice. She values interdisciplinary, holistic care and addressing socioeconomic and health disparities.

Corey Hillman, PT, DPT, is a physical therapist and Instructor in the Human Health Sciences program.
He earned a B.A. in Psychology from UNC Greensboro and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Baylor University.
He practices at Gate City Physio, a clinic serving clients with migraine, headache, and persistent pain.
Dr. Hillman also serves as a clinical preceptor for Doctor of Physical Therapy students.
He emphasizes humanizing care through a biopsychosocial lens and is excited to return to his alma mater.

Dr. Nakia Davis, DHA, MSN, BSN, RN

Dr. Nakia Davis, DHA, MSN, BSN, RN, is a part-time instructor in Human Health Sciences at UNC Greensboro.
She is an experienced Registered Nurse with 14 years in healthcare.
Dr. Davis earned a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration from Virginia University of Lynchburg.
She also holds a master’s degree in Nurse Executive Leadership from South College.
Her teaching encourages active learning and innovative approaches to nursing education.
She combines her administrative, academic, and clinical experience to strengthen students’ critical thinking skills.
Dr. Davis is a Patient Service Manager II at UNC Hospice and an adjunct instructor at several institutions.
She serves her community through Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc., her church, and local mentoring programs.
She received the ECPI Greensboro Faculty of the Year Award in 2020.

Kenia “Thais” Rivas is a part-time instructor in Human Health Sciences at UNC Greensboro.
She holds an M.P.S. in Biomedical and Health Informatics from UNC Chapel Hill.
She also earned a B.S. in Biology from North Carolina A&T State University.
Her work focuses on public health surveillance, health disparities, and community-based research.
Professor Rivas has contributed to organizations such as the NIH RADx COVID-19 Data Hub and Labcorp Oncology.
She has also worked with the UNC Gillings School of Public Health, the North Carolina Black Alliance, and the Guilford County Department of Public Health.
Her teaching and mentoring interests include health data analysis, research methods, and diversity in healthcare.
She is passionate about guiding students toward leadership and collaboration in health professions.
