Allied health professions cover a range of healthcare related roles and organizations. Students in this program are introduced to a wide range of allied health careers and pathways to position them for success in the health professions.
Students get involved in community experiences in North Carolina’s Triad region. They take part in practical learning or shadowing within their chosen career field.

I want to make a positive impact on the community, help better people’s lives, and bridge the gap of care – especially when it comes to people of color and minorities.

I would like to pursue pharmacy or genetic counseling.

Why did you choose this major?
I chose Human and Health Sciences because I believe the program is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about healthcare. The knowledge will help me provide the best care for my future patients. My career goals are to be a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Why did you choose this major?
I chose the HHS major because I felt like it is where I belonged. I always wanted to work with within the medical field, but I couldn’t find the right major for me until HHS.I have had so much help and guidance being in the HHS major and that was a big relief to me especially being a first time university student.
